In February 2010 the South Greenville Fire District in conjunction with DHEC received a grant for 100 smoke detectors through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. These smoke detectors are available to the residents of our district through our Fire Marshal's Office and will be delivered and installed in the home. The target group that these smoke detectors are available for is senior adults 62 and over, households with small children that do not own an operational smoke detector, homes with residents that have disabilities, or anyone in need of a smoke detector. You can contact Fire Marshal Nathan Murtaugh at 864-243-5654 if you need a smoke detector in your home.
